When we started building Askpilot, we wanted to understand how AI could help an estate agency grow. So we spent over a month alongside James Hay and his team at The Home Club, an award-winning lettings agency, gaining firsthand insight into how an agency operates day to day.
We learned how the processes worked, where work stalled and where the human touch won business. It became clear that helping one person complete tasks faster did not meaningfully increase how much business the whole team could handle.
The real opportunity was to use AI to run everyday processes at scale, so the team could take on more business while focusing on customer relationships and important decisions.
You didn't turn up to automate an estate agency, you turned up to understand one first. That's why this actually looks like what agents need, not what a tech company thinks they need.
AI should take the jobs nobody wants to do. The chasing, the re-keying, the same admin over and over.
What it doesn't touch is the human side. A nervous landlord, a tricky application, a judgement call. That's still us, and it's the bit clients actually remember.
